Florin (Sacramento, Calif.) grabbed a lead in the first quarter and rode that momentum to a 32-12 win over
Valley (Sacramento, Calif.).
The Panthers scored eight points in the first quarter. Florin scored on a
Jamari Woods touchdown run.
After taking the lead on a touchdown run by Woods in the first quarter, FHS led 32-6 at the half.
Donnie Barksdale made a difference for the Vikings. The senior running back ran for one touchdown.
The Panthers' most effective player was
Deon Johnson. The junior running back ran for one touchdown and caught one touchdown. He has now scored eight touchdowns on the season.
Florin had struggled this season, allowing 37.1 points per game.
FHS also won the meeting between the two teams last season, 54-12.
The victory was a step in the right direction for the Panthers, which was coming off a 49-27 defeat at the hands of Rosemont in its previous game.
