After a string of three wins, the Jersey Panthers's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a 51-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of Carrollton. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Jersey of the 71-64 loss they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2023.
Jersey lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Tessa Crawford, who scored 14 points along with nine steals. Crawford is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Meredith Gray, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds and two blocks.
Jersey's loss dropped their record down to 15-10. As for Carrollton, they pushed their record up to 17-6 with that victory, which was their seventh straight at home.
Jersey will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Beardstown at 7:30 p.m. on January 26th. As for Carrollton, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Father McGivney Catholic at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Father McGivney Catholic focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Tuesday.
