The Milton Panthers can now show off eight landslide victories after their most recent game on Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Pensacola Catholic 61-17 on the road. Given Milton's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 115th, while Pensacola Catholic is ranked 635th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Milton to victory, but perhaps none more so than Treymar Jones, who scored 17 points. Jones is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Javier Valarezo, who scored ten points along with two steals.
Milton's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-2. As for Pensacola Catholic, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-14 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Milton will face off against Pace at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Pensacola Catholic, they will head out on the road to take on Pensacola Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Pensacola Christian Academy is coming into the contest on a six-game losing streak.
