Softball Recap: Alliance Victorious

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against McKinley, Alliance was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They won by a run and slipped past the Washington Tigers 3-2. The Aviators haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Alaina Minear spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on five hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Alliance's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Peyton Graham, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double. That double was Graham's first of the season.

Alliance's win bumped their record up to 8-9. As for Washington, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season.

Alliance will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Southeast at 5:15 p.m. As for Washington, they will face off against Walsh Jesuit at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
