The Myers Park Mustangs are ranked highly in their home state, and on Tuesday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of the Mountain Brook Spartans. Everything went Myers Park's way against Mountain Brook as Myers Park made off with a 60-39 win. The score was close at the half, but Myers Park pulled away in the second half with 36 points.
Myers Park got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Bishop Boswell out in front who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and five assists. Boswell has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Sadiq White Jr. was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with three blocks.
The win makes it two in a row for Myers Park and bumps their season record up to 5-2. As for Mountain Brook, their loss dropped their record down to 11-3.
Myers Park won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Norcross at 8:30 p.m. on December 20th. Norcross will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in their respective state's rankings (they are ranked 74th in Georgia, while Myers Park is ranked fourth in North Carolina). Mountain Brook is on the road again on Wednesday and play against Central at 6:00 p.m. on December 20th. Central is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
