Natrona County is 0-10 against Thunder Basin since January of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Natrona County Mustangs on the road again and play against the Thunder Basin Bolts at 6:00 p.m. on January 19th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Wyoming (Natrona County is ranked 41st, while Thunder Basin is ranked 25th).
Last Saturday, Natrona County took a serious blow against Douglas, falling 72-41.
Meanwhile, Thunder Basin had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against Sturgis Brown by a score of 46-33 on Friday. The win was just what Thunder Basin needed coming off of a 67-35 defeat in their prior match.
Kambel Cox was her usual excellent self, scoring ten points along with five rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Reece Mcgrath, who scored seven points along with five steals.
Natrona County has been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season. As for Thunder Basin, the victory got them back to even at 6-6.
Natrona County might still be hurting after the 59-35 defeat they got from Thunder Basin in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. Can Natrona County avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
