Antietam has played every game this season on their home court, but they'll have to hit the road on Thursday. They will face off against the Pottsgrove Falcons at 6:00 p.m. Hopefully Antietam focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Monday.
Last Monday, it was a hard-fought contest, but Antietam had to settle for a 56-54 loss against Boyertown. Even though they lost, Antietam's still made a splash on offense and bumped their average scoring up to 50.5 points per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).
Despite their loss, Antietam saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. AJ Schiefly, who scored 19 points along with 3 steals, was perhaps the best of all. Schiefly scored a full 35.2% of Antietam's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Shawn Raffety was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Meanwhile, Pottsgrove got the win against Downingtown East on Saturday by a conclusive 61-40. That's two games straight that Pottsgrove has won by exactly 21 points.
Conrad Weiser's win bumped their season record to 0-0 while Antietam's defeat dropped theirs to 0-1.
Antietam won a match that couldn't have been any closer when the teams last played back in December of 2022, slipping by Pottsgrove 59-58. The rematch might be a little tougher for Antietam since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
