Baseball Recap: Cambria Heights Has No Trouble Against River Valley

Cambria Heights barely beat River Valley the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Cambria Heights blew past River Valley 11-1 on Tuesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Highlanders also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Garrett Jasper was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and only one walk). Jasper was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Bryce Lewis was incredible, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. What's more, he posted three RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. Nolan Clawson also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Cambria Heights always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .559. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as River Valley only posted an OBP of .333.

The victory made it two in a row for Cambria Heights and bumps their season record up to 3-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.5 runs over those games. As for River Valley, their loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-3.
