Even though the Cottonwood Colts have not done well against the Skyline Eagles recently (they were 0-5 in their previous five matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Cottonwood took down Skyline 53-34. This was payback for Cottonwood, who suffered a 49-37 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Despite the loss, Skyline still got an impressive performance from Cami Groberg, who scored 18 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals. Groberg scored a full 52.9% of Skyline's points, the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Leelu Bare, who scored 9 points along with 7 rebounds.
The victory got Cottonwood back to even at 2-2. As for Skyline, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cottonwood will face off against Olympus at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Skyline, they will head out on the road to face off against Judge Memorial Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
