Clarke Central is 6-0 against Cedar Shoals since April of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Saturday. The Clarke Central Gladiators will head out on the road to square off against the Cedar Shoals Jaguars at 1:00 p.m.
Thursday just wasn't the day for Clarke Central's offense. They were the victim of a rough 7-0 defeat at the hands of Cherokee Bluff on Thursday.
Meanwhile, Cedar Shoals had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They blew past Barrow Arts and Sciences Academy 6-2. With Cedar Shoals ahead 4-0 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
They were led to victory by the tag-team duo of
Zulma Valdivieso- Gutierrez and
Arianna Allen, who scored all six of Cedar Shoals' goals.
Clarke Central now has a losing record at 0-1-2. As for Cedar Shoals, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
Everything went Clarke Central's way against Cedar Shoals in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 as Clarke Central made off with a 8-1 victory. In that matchup, Clarke Central amassed a halftime lead of half, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Saturday.
