The Wekiva Mustangs were the 20-14 winner over the Apopka Blue Darters when they last played one another back in November of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Wekiva was just a hair shy of victory on Friday and fell 29-28 to Apopka. Wekiva has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Nathan Jenkins iii had a dynamite game for Apopka, rushing for 177 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.4 yards per carry.
Wekiva has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season. As for Apopka, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-3.
Wekiva does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Apopka will be playing in front of their home fans against Evans at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
