Ridgeview Global Studies Academy has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Last Friday, Ridgeview Global Studies Academy escaped with a win against Discovery by the margin of a single free throw, 42-41. The victory was just what Ridgeview Global Studies Academy needed coming off of a 62-37 loss in their prior match.
Ridgeview Global Studies Academy found their leader in underclassman Stephanie Morales, who scored 21 points along with four steals and two blocks. That's the first time this season that Morales posted two or more blocks.
Meanwhile, Oasis Christian came up short against Auburndale on Friday and fell 32-24.
Despite the defeat, Oasis Christian saw an underclassman step up: Karsyn Roberts scored nine points along with nine rebounds and five steals. That's the first time this season that Roberts pulled down eight or more rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Niyhana Tolbert, who scored four points along with six steals.
Ridgeview Global Studies Academy's victory bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Oasis Christian, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost eight of their last ten matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season.
Ridgeview Global Studies Academy took their win against Oasis Christian in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 by a conclusive 52-30.
