The Fredericksburg Christian Eagles lost against the Nansemond-Suffolk Academy Saints back in October of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Fredericksburg Christian fell 29-21 to Nansemond-Suffolk Academy. It was the first time this season that Fredericksburg Christian let down their fans at home.
Several Eagles players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Drake Morris, who punched in a rushing score, and also threw for 195 yards and a touchdown.
Nansemond-Suffolk Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Isaiah Fuhrmann out in front who picked up 57 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Nansemond-Suffolk Academy also got a significant boost from Caden Bradford, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 94 yards.
Fredericksburg Christian has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-3 record this season. As for Nansemond-Suffolk Academy, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-5.
Fredericksburg Christian will head out on the road to face off against Blue Ridge at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Blue Ridge knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four games -- so hopefully Fredericksburg Christian likes a good challenge. As for Nansemond-Suffolk Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against St. Anne's-Belfield at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Virginia (St. Anne's-Belfield is ranked 165th, while Nansemond-Suffolk Academy is ranked 171st).
