After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Strafford, the Norwood Pirates were happy to have found some success on Friday. They walked away with a 69-60 victory over Cabool. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Leading Norwood to victory were Cooper Vaughan and Noah Drake. Vaughan dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds, while Drake scored 19 points along with three steals. The game was Vaughan's eighth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Andrew Bradshaw, who scored nine points.
Norwood's victory bumped their record up to 9-5. As for Cabool, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Norwood will take on Houston at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Houston has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 27. As for Cabool, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Koshkonong at 6:00 p.m. on January 8th. Koshkonong will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Missouri Rankings (they are ranked 525th, while Cabool is ranked 229th).
