The Giles County Bobcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight defeat. They fell just short of Marshall County by a score of 60-57. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Marshall County's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jamahl Gentry, who scored 23 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Gentry hasn't dropped below two steals for eight straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Xavier Mosley, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds.
Giles County has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 14-8 record this season. As for Marshall County, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-8.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Central Magnet the next time they take the court. Giles County will host the at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, while the Tigers will host them at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
