The Middleton Tigers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their ninth straight loss. They took a 37-29 hit to the loss column at the hands of Spoto. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Middleton has scored all season.
Jeremiah Boone was Middleton's leading scorer, having posted seven points.
Spoto's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jose Deleon, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 15 rebounds. Deleon continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. Jerren Rodriguez was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Middleton bumped their record down to 1-13 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight at home. As for Spoto, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-8.
Middleton won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Armwood at 8:00 p.m. on January 17th. Armwood has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. Spoto won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Durant at 8:00 p.m. on January 17th. Durant is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 62.2 points per game.
