Baseball Game Preview: Warren Central Vikings vs. Grenada Chargers

For the second straight game, Warren Central will face off against Grenada. The Vikings will face off against the Chargers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Warren Central will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak.

Warren Central is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-3 win over Grenada. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Vikings have posted since April 1st.

Maddox Lynch made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed 5.1 innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one walk in eight consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

In other batting news, Trace Hood was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.

Warren Central lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Warren Central pushed their record up to 20-9 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.2 runs over those games. As for Grenada, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 17-12-1.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Warren Central has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.2 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Grenada struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.4 strikeouts.
