The Yorktown Wildcats will challenge the Charlotte Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Yorktown is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games.
Yorktown's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 59-0 win over Pettus. That 59 point margin sets a new team best for the Wildcats this season.

Yorktown can attribute much of their success to Brody Metting, who rushed for 123 yards and three touchdowns on only 14 carries, and McKenzie Yanta, who rushed for 113 yards and three scores on only 12 carries. Metting has been hot, having posted two or more rushing touchdowns the last six times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Brayden Knostman, who rushed for 57 yards and one TD.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Yorktown was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 360 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 203 rushing yards in six consecutive matchups dating back to last season.
Yorktown didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Yanta and Knostman. Adam Serbin was another major factor on D, picking up 0.5 sacks, forcing one fumble, and making eight total tackles (2.0 for loss).
Meanwhile, Charlotte fell victim to Shiner and their airtight defense on Friday. They had to suffer through a 54-0 loss at the hands of the Comanches. While losing is never fun, the Trojans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 1193rd, while the Comanches are ranked 293rd).
Charlotte has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season. As for Yorktown, their victory bumped their record up to 4-1.
Everything came up roses for Yorktown against Charlotte in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 56-0 win. Will the Wildcats repeat their success, or do the Trojans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
