It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Dighton Hornets ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They skirted past Greeley County 45-43. The win was just what Dighton needed coming off of a 56-18 loss in their prior contest.
Dighton got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Rielly James out in front who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points James has scored all season. Kenzie Zimmerman was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Dighton's win bumped their record up to 3-7. As for Greeley County, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-7.
Dighton will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Ness City at 3:00 p.m. on January 20th. Hopefully Ness City focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Friday. As for Greeley County, they will be playing in front of their home fans against St. Francis at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. St. Francis comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
