It was a good run, but the North Brunswick Scorpions unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 68-60 hit to the loss column at the hands of Hoggard. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points North Brunswick has scored all season.
Despite the defeat, North Brunswick had strong showings from Terry Hood, who scored ten points along with six rebounds and five steals, and Malakhi Daniels, who scored 21 points. Hood has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Eric Mosley, who scored 13 points.
It was another big night for Jaylen Herring, who scored 20 points for Hoggard. Those 20 points set a new season-high mark for him. Will Seward was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with seven rebounds.
North Brunswick's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-1. As for Hoggard, their victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. North Brunswick's road trip will continue as they head out to face Topsail at 7:30 p.m. on December 15th. Topsail is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak. As for Hoggard, they will head out on the road to face off against West Brunswick at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully West Brunswick focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Tuesday.
