The Deep Run Wildcats will venture away from home to challenge the Cosby Titans at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Deep Run is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.5 runs per game this season.

Deep Run came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against Godwin, falling 8-0. The game marked the first time this year in which the Wildcats were not able to get on the board.

Deep Run saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Braelyn Baulsir, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

Meanwhile, Cosby posted their closest win since May 23, 2024 on Thursday. They won by a run and slipped past Powhatan 4-3. The victory was nothing new for the Titans as they're now sitting on three straight.

The team relied heavily on Kammie Walter, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple and one double. That double was her first of the season.

Cosby's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-2. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Deep Run, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-4.

Monday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Deep Run hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .329. However, it's not like Cosby struggles in that department as they've averaged .317. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.

Deep Run came up short against Cosby when the teams last played back in April of 2024, falling 14-10. Can the Wildcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
