McCurdy hasn't had much luck against Santa Rosa recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Bobcats will welcome the Lions at 3:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Monday, McCurdy didn't have quite enough to beat Mora and fell 13-11. The Bobcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Cassandra Martinez and Karina Archuleta did some serious damage despite the final result: Martinez scored two runs and stole three bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances, while Archuleta scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. Archuleta is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged two or more in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Mariana Arambula, who went 1-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
Meanwhile, Santa Rosa got the win against Logan on Tuesday by a conclusive 21-1. The Lions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matches by 11 runs or more this season.
Melanie Madera was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Madera was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-4.
In other batting news, Angelina Silva was a standout: she scored five runs and stole six bases while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. Those six stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Leah Moncayo was another key player, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with three runs, four RBI, and one triple.
Santa Rosa hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.
Santa Rosa pushed their record up to 7-5 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 19.2 runs over those games. As for McCurdy, their loss dropped their record down to 5-13.
Wednesday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. McCurdy has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .572. However, it's not like Santa Rosa struggles in that department as they've averaged .551. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
McCurdy suffered a grim 19-8 defeat to Santa Rosa in their previous meeting back in March. Can the Bobcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
