After flying high against the Lifestyle Christian Victors last Tuesday, The Covenant Preparatory School Knights came back down to earth. The Covenant Preparatory School fell just short of Founders Christian by a score of 62-60. The Covenant Preparatory School has not had much luck with Founders Christian recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Despite the defeat, The Covenant Preparatory School saw an underclassman step up: Joshua Kennedy scored 13 points along with six rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Tye Leatherman, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
It was another big night for Cody Baker, who scored 20 points along with six assists and five rebounds for Founders Christian. Baker has been hot recently, having posted 20 or more points the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Owen Anderson, who scored eight points along with ten rebounds.
The Covenant Preparatory School's defeat ended a seven-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 17-7. As for Founders Christian, the win (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 21-11.
The Covenant Preparatory School's road trip will continue as they head out to face Calvary Baptist at 6:30 p.m. on February 12th. One thing working in The Covenant Preparatory School's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last 12 matchups. Founders Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
