The Manchester Regional Falcons will head out on the road to take on the Wayne Valley Indians at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Manchester Regional is coming into the contest hot, having won their last nine games.
Last Tuesday, Manchester Regional was able to grind out a solid win over Leonia, taking the game 53-42.
Meanwhile, Wayne Valley entered their tilt with Wayne Hills with seven consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with eight. Wayne Valley came out on top against Wayne Hills by a score of 57-48 on Thursday. Given Wayne Valley's advantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 39th, while Wayne Hills is ranked 135th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Wayne Valley's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Anthony Apicella, who scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Apicella is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games he's played. Omar Ali was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.
Manchester Regional is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season. As for Wayne Valley, they pushed their record up to 16-5 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home.
