Fountain-Fort Carson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 11th straight loss. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 65-62 heartbreaker at the hands of the Liberty Lancers. Even though they lost, the Trojans' still made a splash on offense and bumped their average scoring up to 50.6 points per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).
Several Trojans players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Torian Carr, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 13 boards. Thanks to that strong game, Carr now owns an excellent 46.7% shooting accuracy. The team also got some help courtesy of Preston Mondragon, who went 5 of 6 en route to 15 points.
Even though they lost, Fountain-Fort Carson smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in seven consecutive contests.
Leading Liberty to victory were London Praytor and Cameron Cunningham. Praytor went 8 for 14 to rack up 20 points along with seven rebounds and three blocks, while Cunningham posted 19 points in addition to eight assists and five boards. Praytor has been hot recently, having posted three or more blocks the last four times he's played. Akai Council was another key player, putting up ten points.
Fountain-Fort Carson's defeat dropped their record down to 3-14. As for Liberty, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-4.
