Mission Veterans Memorial is a perfect 3-0 against Hanna since September of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. Mission Veterans Memorial took a 30-point defeat the last time they faced off against Harlingen, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Patriots pulled ahead with a 38-37 photo finish over the Cardinals on Thursday. The Patriots' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Mission Veterans Memorial found their leader in sophomore Roman Reyna, who rushed for 160 yards and four TDs while picking up 10.0 yards per carry, and also threw for 249 yards and one touchdown. Those 160 rushing yards set a new season-high mark for Reyna. A healthy portion of Reyna's aerial production (138 yards to be exact) went to Benjamin Martinez.
Meanwhile, the third road matchup was the charm for Hanna, as they earned their first away victory of the season. They came out on top against La Joya by a score of 35-28 on Friday.
Mission Veterans Memorial better keep an eye on Esteban Rodriguez. He was instrumental in Hanna's win, rushing for 161 yards and a pair of scores while picking up 8.5 yards per carry. With that strong performance, Rodriguez is now averaging an impressive 114.5 rushing yards per game.
Hanna was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 247 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as La Joya only rushed for 125.
One reason for the win was Hanna's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. In that department, Alik Garza was the leader with two. Hanna got some further help from Dominic Moya: he picked up a sack, made 11 total tackles, and defended one pass.
Hanna picked up their first road win, bumping their record up to 2-3. As for Mission Veterans Memorial, their record now sits at 4-1.
Everything went Mission Veterans Memorial's way against Hanna in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as Mission Veterans Memorial made off with a 28-7 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Patriots since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
