Poland Seminary is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by a 21-1 margin over Struthers on Wednesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bulldogs.
Madison Medvec and Lillian McDonald made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Medvec struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). Meanwhile, McDonald pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Medvec has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. At the plate, Medvec scored three runs while going 2-for-4, while McDonald went 2-for-3 with three RBI.

In other batting news, Elliana Thompson was a standout: she scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. She continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Leanna Boccieri, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four RBI and one run.
Poland Seminary hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in six consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Hubbard entered their game against Lakeview on Wednesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Eagles fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 8-6.
Ashley Masluk made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with four RBI. Another player making a difference was Layla Songer, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.
Hubbard's defeat dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Poland Seminary, the win was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 3-4.
Friday's match might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Poland Seminary has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .533. However, it's not like Hubbard struggles in that department as they've averaged .436. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
