The Parsippany Redhawks fought the good fight in their overtime game against the North Warren Regional Patriots on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Patriots by a score of 62-60. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Several Redhawks players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Thomas Niedermaier, who scored 21 points along with seven rebounds. Niedermaier scored a full 35% of Parsippany's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Arthur Smith was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with four steals.
Parsippany's defeat dropped their record down to 2-1. As for North Warren Regional, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-2.
Parsippany will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Butler at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday. North Warren Regional will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on High Point at 7:00 p.m. on January 3, 2024.
