The Stanton Mustangs and the Elkhorn Valley Falcons squared off in some playoff action  on Tuesday, but sadly the Stanton Mustangs had to settle for second. They ended up on the wrong side of a  tough 53-27 walloping at the hands of the Falcons. Stanton was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at  33-11.
  Skyler Siebrandt and  Kelby Pohlman certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss.  Siebrandt  scored six points along with two  blocks, while  Pohlman  scored five points along with two  steals. Siebrandt has been hot recently, having posted two or more  blocks the last 12 times she's  played.
 Elkhorn Valley was led to victory by  Karlee Broberg and  Jj Black.  Broberg  scored 13 points along with three  steals, while  Black  dropped  a double-double on 13 points and 13  rebounds. Black is on a roll when it comes to  rebounds, as she's  now  pulled down nine or more in the last ten games she's  played.  Cameron Rutjens was another key contributor,  scoring five points along with six  rebounds and four  steals.
 This is  the second loss in a row for Stanton and  nudges their season record down to 11-10. As for Elkhorn Valley,  the  victory  made it two in a row for them and  bumps their season record up to 12-7.
 Stanton does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Elkhorn Valley's road trip will continue as they head out to face Norfolk Catholic at 6:30  p.m.  on February 15th. Hopefully Elkhorn Valley focused on turnovers this week  since the team gave up nine on Tuesday.
