Baseball Recap: Grissom Has No Trouble Against Desoto Central

It was a proper cat-fight when Grissom challenged DeSoto Central on Saturday. The Grissom Tigers blew past the DeSoto Central Jaguars 11-1. Considering the Tigers have won four matches by more than seven runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Dalton Dardin and Josh Burrell did most of the damage at the plate: Dardin scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances, while Burrell scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Another player making a difference was Charlie Cassingham, who scored two runs while going 1-for-4.

Grissom's victory bumped their record up to 9-1. As for DeSoto Central, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-3.

Coming up, Grissom will be taking part in a tournament against Spain Park at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Grissom's pitching crew has only allowed 1.5 runs per game this season, so Spain Park's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for DeSoto Central, they will face off against Hernando at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
