After two games on the road, Monrovia is heading back home. They will take on the Cloverdale Clovers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Monrovia focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Thursday.
Even though Monrovia has not done well against the Tiger Cubs recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way. Monrovia came out on top against the Tiger Cubs by a score of 51-44. Winning is a bit easier when you work as a team to rack up ten more assists than your opponent, as Monrovia did.
Monrovia's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tucker Rahn, who scored 16 points along with six assists. Clay Tharp was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Cloverdale's recent rough patch got a bit rougher last Saturday after their tenth straight defeat. They fell 54-42 to Eastern Greene.
Monrovia is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-10 record this season. As for Cloverdale, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-16.
Monrovia beat the Clovers 53-44 when the teams last played back in February of 2023. Does Monrovia have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Clovers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
