Alisal is 0-3 against Palma since October of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Alisal Trojans will be staying on the road to face off against the Palma Chieftains at 7:00 p.m. on November 24th. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Alisal put the finishing touches on their fifth blowout victory of the season on Saturday. They blew past Scotts Valley 28-7.
Meanwhile, Palma had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 24.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They came out on top against Menlo-Atherton by a score of 28-21. The score was all tied up 14-14 at the break, but Palma was the better team in the second half.
Palma found their leader in underclassman Eli Dukes, who rushed for 176 yards and two touchdowns. Thomas Nunes was another key contributor, rushing for 73 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries.
Another reason for the win was Palma's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for six sacks. Menlo-Atherton's QB won't forget Ryan Sanders anytime soon given Sanders sacked him twice.
Alisal pushed their record up to 10-2 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Palma, their victory bumped their record up to 8-4.
Alisal was dealt a bruising 42-15 defeat at the hands of Palma in their previous meeting back in September. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Palma's Nunes, who rushed for 121 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 112 yards and a touchdown on only ten passes. Now that Alisal knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
