The Oneida Express will head out on the road to take on the Rome Free Academy Black Knights at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Oneida is looking to tack on another W to their seven-game streak on the road dating back to last season.
Last Friday, Oneida didn't have too much trouble with New Hartford at home as they won 47-32.
Meanwhile, Rome Free Academy unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a hard 65-49 fall against Notre Dame/Catholic.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Amiyah Ferebee, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds. She also grabbed two+ steals for the first time this season. Another player making a difference was Haylee Bostwick, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Oneida's victory bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Rome Free Academy, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-5.
Oneida didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Rome Free Academy when the teams last played back in December of 2023, but they still walked away with a 34-28 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Oneida since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
