Two dominant signal callers in Hudson Hoffman and Malik Gee are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Bridge City Cardinals will square off against the Chapel Hill Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Bridge City proved they can win big two weeks ago (they won by 31) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They pulled ahead with a 22-21 photo finish over Hargrave. Surprisingly, this marked the Cardinals' fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Ashton Sumrall
| 11/07/25 @ Hargrave | 121 |
| 10/31/25 vs Liberty | 108 |
| 10/24/25 vs Little Cypress-Mauriceville | 100 |
Bridge City can attribute much of their success to Ashton Sumrall, who rushed for 121 yards and one touchdown, and Abraham Munguia, who rushed for 33 yards and one score. Sumrall's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 100 rushing yards.
Bridge City's run defense was locked in: Hargrave could only muster 3.5 yards per carry. The team can thank Asher Richardson for the heroic effort on defense: he. Bridge City's ground attack was stronger, having averaged 4.7.
Bridge City didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. Ethan Hernandez was the real danger to the passing game, picking up two interceptions all by himself. Bridge City got some further help from Bryce Breeden: he picked up two sacks, forced two fumbles, and made seven total tackles.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Chapel Hill, who bounced back after a loss on the road back in October. They blew past Henderson 56-35 two weeks ago. Considering the Bulldogs have won five matchups by more than 19 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Bridge City better keep an eye on Damarcion Blaylock. He was instrumental in Chapel Hill's win, rushing for 220 yards and three TDs while picking up 13.8 yards per carry, and also picking up 67 receiving yards and one touchdown. Lemuel Stinson also helped out as he racked up 191 rushing yards.
On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Chapel Hill's defensive line and their four sacks. Payton Bonner refused to say out of the backfield, picking up two sacks all by himself. Another thorn in Henderson's side was Bonner, who picked up two sacks, forced two fumbles, and made 12 total tackles (3.0 for loss).
Bridge City's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-1. The road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 34.0 points over those games. As for Chapel Hill, their record is now 6-4.
We should be in store for an exciting game as Bridge City and Chapel Hill have no problem gaining yardage. The Cardinals have been on an offensive roll this season, having averaged 356.2 total yards per game. However, it's not like Chapel Hill struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 474.9 total yards. With a pair of commanding offenses duking it out, the defenses are going to have their work cut out for them. Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
