The Alton Redbirds have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matchups by 22 points or more this season. They took their game on the road on Saturday with ease, bagging a 86-32 win over Springfield Southeast. Alton's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Kiyoko Proctor continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 19 points along with five assists and five steals. The match was her fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Alyssa Lewis, who scored 15 points.
Springfield Southeast's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Navehua Collier, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds, and Corrine Pickett who scored eight points.
The win for Alton keeps them at an undefeated 8-0. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.6 points per game. As for Springfield Southeast, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.
Alton is on the road again on Thursday and play against Belleville East at 7:30 p.m. on December 14th. Belleville East will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings (they are ranked 478th, while Alton is ranked 11th). As for Springfield Southeast, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Lincoln at 7:00 p.m. Lincoln has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 666 points over their last nine matches.
