Glenville-Emmons is 2-8 against the Cardinals since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Glenville-Emmons Wolverines will head out on the road to face off against the LeRoy-Ostrander Cardinals at 7:15 p.m. The pair have had a bumpy ride up to this point with six consecutive losses for Glenville-Emmons and five for the Cardinals.
Last Friday, Glenville-Emmons had to suffer through a rough 82-40 loss at the hands of the Lions. While losing is never fun, Glenville-Emmons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 361st, while the Lions are ranked 45th).
Meanwhile, LeRoy-Ostrander took a serious blow against the Lions on Thursday, falling 74-34.
LeRoy-Ostrander might have lost, but man, Camden Hungerholt was a machine: he scored 17 points along with eight steals and five rebounds. Hungerholt hasn't dropped below 15 points for 14 straight games. Another player making a difference was Carter Sweeney, who scored nine points.
Glenville-Emmons' loss was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-13. As for LeRoy-Ostrander, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost eight of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-14 record this season.
Glenville-Emmons opened the new year with a less-than-successful 67-54 loss to the Cardinals. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Hungerholt, who scored 34 points along with seven rebounds and five steals. Now that Glenville-Emmons knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
