The Fillmore Flashes's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fifth straight loss. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 49-48 to Hueneme. Fillmore was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Hueneme apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.
Several Flashes players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jaime Soto, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Soto is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Isaac Weslow was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with seven rebounds.
Fillmore bumped their record down to 3-14 with that loss, which was their sixth straight at home. As for Hueneme, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-13.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Channel Islands the next time they take the court. Hueneme will head out to face Channel Islands at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while Fillmore will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
