Baseball Recap: Palo Verde Snags Sixth Win in Last Seven Games

Palo Verde barely beat Green Valley the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Panthers were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Gators on Wednesday. Considering the Panthers have won nine matches by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Dylan Feeny looked comfortable as he tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March.

At the plate, Noah Knudson was a standout: he went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Dane Keener was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one home run and two runs.

Palo Verde always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .519. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Green Valley only posted an OBP of .200.

Palo Verde has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-7 record this season. As for Green Valley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 15-12.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Palo Verde will square off against Bishop Alemany at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Panthers are facing the Warriors at the right time seeing as the Warriors are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Green Valley, they will challenge Liberty at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. The Gators' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Patriots have averaged an impressive 7.5 runs per game this season.
