Rockledge has been on the road for five straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Cocoa Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Rockledge will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 436th, while Cocoa is ranked 168th).
Rockledge suffered their closest defeat yet this season on Wednesday. They fell just short of Eau Gallie by a score of 24-21. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Rockledge has scored all season.
Despite the loss, Rockledge got a solid performance out of Jaida Williams-Goins, who scored 18 points along with nine steals. Williams-Goins is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 15 or more in the last eight games she's played.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Rockledge struggled to work together and finished the game with only an assist. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
In what's become a running theme this season, Cocoa gave their fans yet another huge win on Thursday. They blew past Heritage, posting a 69-37 victory at home. The victory was just what Cocoa needed coming off of a 65-41 loss in their prior contest.
Rockledge's loss dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Cocoa, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-9 record this season.
