Mountain View has gone a perfect 10-0 against Provo recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Bruins will square off against the Bulldogs at 3:30 p.m. Mountain View is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11.2 runs per game this season.
Mountain View couldn't beat Woods Cross on Friday even though they stacked six runs on them in the second inning. The Bruins fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 10-9.
Meanwhile, Provo can bid farewell to their seven-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They blew past American Leadership Academy 14-4. The Bulldogs not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since March 24th (when they won 24-5).
The team relied heavily on Tava'Esina Albert, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three doubles. Those three doubles gave her a new career-high. Lily Rock was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Provo kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 19 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Mountain View's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 13-9. As for Provo, their record now sits at 5-12.
Tuesday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Mountain View has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .525. However, it's not like Provo struggles in that department as they've averaged .575. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Mountain View's way against Provo in their previous meeting on April 3rd, as Mountain View made off with an 11-1 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bruins since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
