In what's become a running theme this season, the Wickenburg Christian Academy Lion gave their fans yet another huge win on Wednesday. They really took it to BASIS - Prescott for the full four quarters, racking up a 73-36 victory on the road. Given Wickenburg Christian Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 81st, while BASIS - Prescott is ranked 279th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Evan Gustin, who scored 34 points along with eight rebounds and seven steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Calden Dickinson, who scored ten points along with three steals and two blocks.
The win (which was Wickenburg Christian Academy's fourth in a row) raised their record to 11-1. As for BASIS - Prescott, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-10.
Wickenburg Christian Academy will be playing at home against Trinity Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Trinity Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past five matches -- so hopefully Wickenburg Christian Academy likes a good challenge. As for BASIS - Prescott, they will head out on the road to challenge Leupp Boarding at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
