On Monday Rylin Needham struck out six batters over five innings while giving up four earned runs off six hits (and only one walk). The performance also marked the fewest walks (one) Needham has had since back in March. As if that's not impressive enough, the pitching appearance was his seventh in a row with more than six strikeouts. This season, he has an ERA of 3.73 over 35.7 innings pitched.

Even though Needham couldn't lead Mountain Crest over Ridgeline, he won't have to wait long to try again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Sadly, Needham's big day wasn't enough to stop the loss, which snapped the Mustangs' seven-game streak of wins at home.
