Poca and Buffalo are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2017, but not for long. The Poca The Dots will take on the Buffalo Bison in a holiday battle at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday at. Hopefully Poca focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 26 on Tuesday.
On Tuesday, Poca came up short against Winfield and fell 57-46.
Despite their loss, Poca saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Alyssa Raynes, who scored 17 points along with five steals, was perhaps the best of all. That's the first time this season that Raynes scored 15 or more points. Hanna Moore was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Buffalo entered their tilt with Clay County with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Buffalo walked away with a 54-45 victory over Clay County on Tuesday. 54 seems to be a good number for Buffalo as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.
Poca's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Buffalo, their win bumped their record up to 3-1.
Everything went Poca's way against Buffalo in their previous matchup back in January as Poca made off with a 55-29 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Poca since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
