Floydada is coming home in high spirits after they had to open their season on the road against Tulia. Floydada came out on top against Tulia by a score of 27-19 on Friday.

It was truly a group effort as Eric Gonzalez, Sergio Valadez, and Tyrean Henderson picked up one apiece. Henderson also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, forcing a fumble and making two total tackles in addition to snagging an interception.
Meanwhile, Lockney couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They fell to West Texas 30-25.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Dyllan Thiebaud, who rushed for 54 yards and a touchdown on only five carries, and also threw for 114 yards and a touchdown. He got the majority of those yards when he took off on a run and that went for an incredible60 yards. Speaking of playmakers, who could forget Daniel Alvarado, who went all the way with a kickoff return for a touchdown.
Lockney wouldn't let West Texas keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force two fumbles. Lockney can thank Dahlen Silva and Alvarado for forcing both of them. Silva's also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, forcing a fumble and making five total tackles.
