The Mountain View-Gotebo Tigers will head out on the road to face off against the Carnegie Wildcats at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Mountain View-Gotebo had to kick off their season on the road last Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They blew past Cement, posting a 71-20 victory on the road.
Meanwhile, Carnegie had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 46.3 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Saturday. They walked away with a 46-37 win over Ninnekah.
Carnegie's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Duane Cavaness, who scored 14 points along with 7 rebounds, and Jalen Wallace, who scored 17 points along with 6 assists. The contest was Wallace's seventh in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Paden Jackson, who scored 4 points.
Mountain View-Gotebo's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Carnegie, their win bumped their record up to 6-1.
Mountain View-Gotebo barely slipped by Carnegie when the teams last played back in January, winning 53-52. Does Mountain View-Gotebo have another victory up their sleeve, or will Carnegie turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
