Baseball Recap: Auburn Wins Going Away Against Dothan

After losing to Dothan the last time they met, Auburn decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Auburn blew past Dothan 12-4 on Saturday. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Max Autrey looked comfortable as he tossed 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Antwane Daniels, who scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Weston Luther, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Auburn's win bumped their record up to 12-8. As for Dothan, their loss dropped their record down to 14-7.

Coming up, Auburn will challenge Hoover at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Dothan, they will take on Har-Ber at 9:00 a.m. on Monday. Dothan's pitchers better be ready for this one: Har-Ber has averaged an impressive 6.5 runs per game this season.
