Colonial Forge is on a seven-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Riverbend is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Eagles will host the Bears at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Tuesday, Colonial Forge earned a 7-2 victory over Brooke Point. The win continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Black Hawks: they've now won eight in a row.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Riverbend). They blew past Brooke Point 16-6 on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Bears, who have now won six games by six runs or more so far this season.
Jameson Snell made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one walk in eight consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three runs and two RBI. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Norah Clark was a standout: she went a perfect 5-for-5 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. Those five hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryleigh Livesay, who went 4-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles.
Riverbend always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .581. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .543 or higher in three consecutive matches.
Riverbend has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-3-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.9 runs over those games. As for Colonial Forge, their win bumped their record up to 6-3.
Colonial Forge skirted past Riverbend 5-4 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bears turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
