Center is 8-1-1 against Carthage since January of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Center Roughriders will head out on the road to face off against the Carthage Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
While it was all tied up 1-1 at halftime, Center was not quite Henderson's equal in the second half on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Lions by a score of 3-2.
Meanwhile, after soaring to nine goals the game before, Carthage were a bit more limited in their matchup on Friday. Their rough 4-0 defeat to Kilgore might stick with them for a while. While losing is never fun, Carthage can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 425th, while Kilgore is ranked 42nd).
Center's loss dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Carthage, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-5-1 record this season.
Everything went Center's way against Carthage in their previous matchup back in March of 2023 as Center made off with a 4-1 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Center since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
