The Grand Blanc Bobcats are taking a road trip to face off against the Walled Lake Central Vikings at 9:45 a.m. on Saturday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Grand Blanc has seven straight victories, Walled Lake Central has six straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Walled Lake Central's hitters are going to have their work cut out for them on Saturday: Grand Blanc hadn't allowed a single run the last six times they've hit the field. Everything went the Bobcats' way against Warren Sterling United [Mott/Cousino/Sterling Heights] on Saturday as they made off with a 15-0 win. The Bobcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 18 matches by seven runs or more this season.
Savannah Schultz was a major factor no matter where she played. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 11 over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 16 consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with four RBI and one double.

Grand Blanc kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive contests.
Escanaba hit Walled Lake Central with a eight-run fourth inning on Saturday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Vikings came up short against the Eskymos, falling 11-1.
Walled Lake Central saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Leyla Wilk, who went 1-for-2 with one run.
Grand Blanc pushed their record up to 24-3 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.0 runs over those games. As for Walled Lake Central, they now have a losing record of 11-12.
Saturday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Grand Blanc hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .396. However, it's not like Walled Lake Central struggles in that department as they've averaged .331. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Grand Blanc skirted past Walled Lake Central 4-3 in their previous matchup back in May of 2022. Do the Bobcats have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Vikings turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
