The Smidt Tech Grey Wolves will head out on the road to face off against the Annenberg Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Smidt Tech has three straight victories, Annenberg has five straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
On Tuesday, Smidt Tech strolled past Alliance Bloomfield with points to spare, taking the game 50-36.
Nathan Lopez was his usual excellent self, scoring 23 points. Those 23 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Aaron Merlos, who scored 11 points.
Meanwhile, Annenberg came up short against Aspire Ollin on Thursday and fell 49-38.
The victory got Smidt Tech back to even at 6-6. As for Annenberg, they bumped their record down to 1-5 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight at home.
Things could have been worse for Smidt Tech, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 47-33 loss to Annenberg in their previous matchup back in December of 2022. Can Smidt Tech avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
